rear body damage

So you would have to love this thING a ton. Probably not something you you could tackle at home because if I had to guess it has frame damage. Best bet may be a part out. With the work to straighten the frame put a new quarter tail section and trunk on it and then paint it I would guess you are looking at 2500+. Was it hit or did a tree or something fall on it?

A tree fell on it. 2.5k sounds low, actually. I'd likely spend that much buying another car.
After I got it out from under the tree I hooked a chain between the tree and the rear and pulled out the dent a bit, then I stuck a jack in the trunk and got some more. I think I could do more, but I don't assume the expertise to know if I've got the frame straight enough for ride and safety.

I rigged up a come-along around a tree (and hoped it won't fall down) then I used a jack on the inside.

I pounded on the panel inside and out.

Re-attached the wiring to the light

Not exactly my style, but hopefully it will get me to the body shop.
