I heard of people acid dipping their rusted oe fuel tanks. Seems like it would be impossible to get at the rust forming at the seams. Is a better option just to get a aftermarket?

How would you reseal it after? There's a coating on the inside to prevent corrosion. Just buy a new one, they are super cheap on amazon
