    Bumper/valence/lip question

I am lost, I bought my e30 to learn to work on cars and I am several projects in by now. I have a 91 convertible and I love it! What I don't enjoy is my fog lights hanging out on their own underneath the bumper. I want the bottom half of the bumper to be bigger like I see on other cars but I don't know what part I'm looking for.

I have seen the terms bumper, valence, and lip used interchangeably and I don't know what part I should be shopping for. I also don't know if all parts play nicely together. I have metal bumpers on my car, "diving boards"I guess.

What's the best way to find what I need without breaking the bank? Pick and pull? What does painting a new piece cost?

I'll try to get a picture in here of what I'm working with but I'm on my phone.

I believe you can use a late model valance on the later diving board cars, which would have provisions for fogs in the valance itself.

So when I am shopping for a valence, are there particular places I should be looking? I don't imagine these are made new anymore but are there good places other than eBay and Craigslist? Also, do you have any idea what it cost to paint a valence to match the car?
