    Welding in new core support

Is it difficult to weld in a new core support? Has anybody had any fitment issues with the OEM replacement part? It seems BMW service parts can be a bit off the mark sometimes. Mine has a couple problem areas and I'm thinking about just replacing it.

If you can mig it's not difficult at all, just a few plug welds.. Get yourself a spot weld drill bit.

Just make sure you tack it in first and make sure everything lines up before you go big.

    I made mine removable.

Despite being Harbor Freight, these work very well:

I always used a center punch to make a mark that the drill would sit in so it wouldn't wander. Worked great.
