    Dried tape on fender.

So i installed a new fender on my E30 and when i bought it there was dried tape on it. The guy i bought it from told me soap and water will take it off but it did not work. The sun has crusted this tape up and even a heat gun barely got some of it off but there is a lot of residue. I have tried many suggestions from the web but nothing has worked. What option do i have? Thanks for any help you may give :D

    What kind of tape?

I'd scrap off as much as I could with either my fingernail or a plastic putty knife, then use something like goo-gone or goof-off to get rid of any residue. WD-40 works as well.

i have tried heating it up with a heat gun and scraping it off and some came off. goo gone and WD-40 did not work.

Liquid polish, once had a bunch of tape residue, nothing worked even remotely until I tried polish which seemed to take it off with ease

PB Blaster and a plastic razor blade. CAREFULLY.

              Then polish and wax.

3M adhesive remover. Keep the old tape wet for about 10 min. and you can scrape it off with a plastic scraper or gift card.

                      MEK substitute followed by wax.
