1990 325i restoration to original paint

    Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with restoring the original paint color of the car here? My car originally came with gletscherblau-metallic out of the factory, but the PO decided that he will spray poor quality black paint on the car.

The black paint is now chipping away and I am wondering what I can do in this position.

    Thank you.

If it's anything like the POS paint job the PO on mine gracefully did, I think the best bet there is to sand it down, primer and re-spray with paint color matched to what came with your car from the factory.

At least in my case, paint is chipping away from certain areas, but adhered quite well in others. I don't think there's a simple remedy for this unfortunately.

That's a shame though. Gletscherblau next to Cirrusblau are fantastic e30 colors.

Just find a quality shop and be done with it. Mine was redone back in 2011 and came out great. PO did the same to mine Henna to dark blue
