So Jane (she's an 87, 325es) didn't come with a valance when I bought her by the looks of it. However, after some research I had a few new questions. Is that part the valance and I need an air dam? Is an air dam and valance the same thing? Also, any recommendations for a valance /air dam(preferably bolt on with little modification) Don't really care if its OEM look or the m-tech stuff, just want to know what I need to do to make her look good again. . UNPOPULAR OPINION: I also want to keep the DB's. :nice:

Maybe a valance question?

Actually you have a valance on there already, it's just missing the air dam. You can take the brackets off that hold the air dam and put on a lip that attaches to the bottom of the metal valance. A 86-87 lip will work and a 87-90 lip from a convertible will work also. But as to what is a valance air dam and so on.... Most call it a valance or an air dam.

No it will not work. That's for a late model with plastic bumpers.
You'll have to change your front end over to this style here
This is the air dam that's missing on yours
Or you could just bolt on this lip to your existing valance
Or find this lip that's kind of rare "Jimmy Hill" is its nick name.
These harder to find air dams/spoilers/lips are harder to find but will work on you current setup.

For the sake of not starting yet another thread does mine already have the valence as well? And do you happen to know the part number for the lip you're mentioning? I think this might be it but I want to 100% before I spend that kind of money https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...nDIaApef8P8HAQ

@JasonC hey i have an 1987 325i convertible (early model) with the same front end as @Drami with the fog lights.
it also has this air dam which i have off because the metal where the bracket held on to rusted out.
that being said...
would it be possible to swap my metal bumper to look like this one?
and what is the name of this bumper kit?
thanks.
