    bump tuck

k well i decided to tuck my bumpers today so they dont look like diving boards. any way i got the front easy as pie. drilled the oil shock got sprayed in the face but other than that the front went smooth. then i got to the back jammed the bit in the shock once it drilled through tryed to get it out but i ended up snapping the bit in the shock o i had to grind it down to get the shock to compress. sooo... heres my problem i went to the safeway up the road to slam it into the wall i tried about 4 good bumps ito the wall and i could only get one side to go in and its the one with the bit in it but thats no problem because i grinded it down . i couldnt get the other shock to go in plus i didnt want to bash my muffler in either. im thinking the shock might be slightly rusty looks like it. anyways do you think i should give it another run or are there any other ideas.

oh and p.s. to anyone doing this in the future the front bumper is much easier to put on when you compress the shock bolt in back to the front then pull really hard and make it come back out then bolt the bumper on and push really hard and make it go in. otherwise you will be swareing at you self trying to get your fingers behind there to bolt the bumper on. fucking bitch.

is part of the bit acting like a pin keeping the shock from compressing? Get a slightly smaller bit that is good for hard metal, and drill. If the drill bit is to hard to drill through, get a punch, and whack it through. Worst case, get a shock from a junkyard car.

yeah im not too keen on slamming my bumper into a wall but here is what i faced! front same as you ...rear i drilled both shocks and saw oil come out of both buuuuuutttt when i drop kicked them one side went all the way in and the other side almost shattered my heal. so i was like what the fuck......

make sure you actually drilled far enough in. even though fluid came out of that shock it still had oil in it and i had to drill a wee bit more.. once i drilled a little more more fluid spewed out and the bumper went in easy as pie!

Why do people have so many problems with this?

Drill far into the shock, you will know when most of the oil/pressure is out. I belive there are two chambers.

Then just kick it in, you girl friends a bitch pretend her face is the bumper and give er.

Oh and I did both of mine on the car. And have taken my front bumper on and off a few times since.

        Sold it.
