So out of curiosity, how load bearing is the roof panel? If for some reason I can't fix some of the rust spots around the sunroof in an efficient manner, would it be safe to cut out a section and weld in some new sheet metal? This would be a last resort as I really want to save the sunroof, but if i have to do it to save an otherwise excellent shape e30 I'm willing to do it.
