Same here in Finland, all rusted shit buckets are painted that way to hide the rust.

well my bumpers are in ruff shape.. and the lower portion of the car is all chipped etc..

I think thats a very good reason to do something like that, Im not sure how it would look but I'd give you props for trying something new!
