Painting rubber mudflaps oem black

I have some faded mudflaps that I want to restore.

I am thinking SEM bumper coat paint?

The mudflaps are rubber not plastic.

Anyone have experience on painting rubber?

This will sound crazy, but try heal and edge dressing for shoes. I've used this a ton on similar items and it works great.

lol i use their black leather dye, works well too
