painting hood have questions ..

i got a new hood and am getting ready to paint but i have a few questions.

(already stripped to bare metal)

how much paint ?
and should attempt to use a gun ?
(i already a ton of materials and tools) but it will be my first.
are there any techniques i need to apply ?

ive never painted anything with a gun before but i would imagine that youre gonna want to practice on something else first.

I have recently picked up body work/painting, and have two Sata guns. There is a lot to learn and know, takes plenty of practice. Do not paint a hood for your first piece. Unless you like color sanding a lot.

well given my experience or lack there of, i wonder if i should just paint it black .

Some parts of it yes..working on the complete paint for my Deuce.
