Water In My Trunk

I have a 1985 E30, was getting water into the trunk, specifically the taillights. Changed both taillight gaskets and the next rain storm I noticed more wetness at the taillights. The only thing I can think of is the trunk gasket was installed poorly. I'm open to all thoughts and thanks in advance for any and all help.
