Hey man...YOU didn't ask my opinion now, did ya? Don't take taste things personally. I did look at your post when you posted it. I didn't say anything because I have SOME manners...some even good manners!

I was traumatized in the 70's by all the brown/avocado/rust colors. They are all just hideous to me.

BTW, dmoffitt, on a personal note...that is some very fine work on that car, dude...fuggin'ossum!

hehe I'm just messing with ya luke (even if you hate my JL sub, although I'll agree they aren't BAD just overpriced, and since I got mine stupid cheap at dealer accom, well...)

I will say this, re - I FUCKING DESPISE BRONZIT - but this is about as far from it (and still being in the same region of the color wheel). The color is (without tooting my own horn) fucking INCREDIBLE, IMO it's the new Byzanz. :pimp: When I walked into the shop and saw it parked there, slightly back-lit (they turned the lighs on for the photo) just GLARING at me through those smoked lenses, I just about fell over... Give it a chance / see it in person, who knows I might road-trip it out to Montana like I do from time to time, OR is only another long-day-trip from there, and I've been MEANING to get to that part of the west coast, I miss the ocean (usually Atlantic) and have lately considered moving west...

The more I think about it, the more I think you should just go for it and paint yours that color two - just do something different with the body parts (*cough* M3 Fiberglass Widebody *cough*) hehe Team Sepang FTW (j/k)

I'm another antiBronzit antibrown guy for the record but I remember that car. It was in Performance BMW Magazine a while back and it was sick. (I have that issue somewhere) That was/is the only brown/bronzit that I've liked since I first saw Eurospeed88's Bronzit back on E30Sport....
BMW makes some beautiful silver and grey colors and the same goes for their blues and greens. My is to find one of those you like because they look way better on an E30 than brown/bronzit. :)

That said, looking at this pic,
I really like the contrast of the brown paint with the black grill and trim. Very sexy. Nicely done.

Even in the crappy mix of light in there you can see how it goes from DARK bronze to an almost warm-red color, that's what I liked about it, it helps pick up the warm Cardinal interior but is light enough to stand out from the black. Subtle, that was the key ;)

i think that color is absolutely sick... that freshly painted one is absolutely beautiful and classy. and to be honest, i think that guy's blue e30 that's bashing the bronzitesque color is so tacky.

Its your money, your time, and your car. If you like it, do it. I'm an automotive painter and I think brown looks good on nothing.

Wow, the color sure is polarizing. Either you love it or hate it!

I love this color on E30s. I HATE bronzit. But this shade of brown is awesome.
