Primer black hood... rice?

The paint on the hood of my daily e28 has lost 99% of it's clearcoat, and is now just an ugly ass faded and scratched flat battleship grey color (the car is delphin). I have been toying with the idea of just painting the hood flat or satin black since the rest of the paint is pretty well faded too and I won't be able to paint the car until summer. I might do it, but I don't want to make the car look WORSE... Anybody with black hoods?

leave it alone!
it will look like you got into an accident, bought a new hood, but couldnt afford to paint it.
black hoods are for people who cant afford to paint their hoods.

Yeah, leave it alone, faded silver looks much better than rattle can black.
