    side molding...

Leave it - or loose it?

Should I (when I repaint the entire car) loose the side (mid door)molding, or should I keep it?

    Here's my thoughts on it.

I like the way E30's look without their side moldings, it's very clean. But the first time someone opens their door a little to fast, you're going to wish you'd kept it. And I know what most people say, "I won't park that close to people, I'll be careful, blah, blah, blah..." But the point is, you can't be careful all the time, and you don't know who's going to park next to you while you're in the store.

i'd loose it, but i'm also with eurospeed. you'll never know who will park next to you. Altho someone hit my door with theirs and it missed the side molding altogether and put a dent in my door.

Sometimes also though, I've been in my garage working or somewhere, and had to open the door and leave it open, but don't have enough room to get the door to where it stays open on its own, and had to rest the door against the wall or whatever on the side molding. Another time it was good to have them.

I would keep them. BTW, what color is your car?

          I'm assuming it's black......

Black would look hot w/o moldings

Why are you assuming it's black? Did I miss something?

You could always put a strip of some of that invisible 3M tape for front bumpers and hoods on the side to save you from sratches. I really like who E30s look without side mouldings--I'd say it's definately worth it.

That stuff will protect against scratches and chip, but not from straight-on door dings and dents.
