I'd be glad to give you some pointers. First off why don't you explain your problem and what your trying to do? how about some pics?

If your going to be a cheap a$$ dont waste your time, saving money on body work is why your efforts came out as shit. Either do it right or your better off leaving it alone.

+10000 i'll answer any questions/ problems you have or are having also. "bondo" is not bad or suck when used properly. much like everything else if you use it improperly it will look and preform like shit. although actual "bondo" brand plastic body filler is crap, if you are going to do it go to a paint supply store and get some evercoat or something similar.

This man speaks the truth. Although you can get by with Bondo, The truth is bondo brand sucks ass. Don't try to save money by buying ANYTHING at an auto parts store, what they sell is crap. If you are truly a Cheap A$$ save yourself money by spending more money on the good stuff. Find a reputable auto body supply shop and spend the extra money on quality product, it will save you a ton of Time, money, and frustration in the end. I tried the cheap route at first and all it does is waste your time and money. Evercoat is great stuff and a pleasure to work with, they have a product called metal glaze that will make you look like a pro. I've been working on a write up of how I did the body work and painted my car. I messed up a ton on the way but I was taught by pro's as I re-did everything until I got it right. My car looks pretty amazing for a first timer. The thing is that I had to learn may techniques to do it the right way. How to spread the filler, how much to sand off, when it comes to sanding filler less is more, you'll be covering that with high build primer and that is when you perfect it. What grits of paper for what job. How to sand ='s cross hatching, if you don't do it this way, and it's easy to learn, your gonna end up with flat spots that will come out in the base coat and it'll look like crap. I'll help you but you'll have to start from scratch by removing that bondo and sanding the repair area with 36 grit paper. When this is done post a photo of the area to be repaired and I'll give you the first step, when thats done post another photo and if it's done correctly I'll give you the next step and so on and so forth. Between Me and Der affe giving you advice, using the right product and you doing the work you'll be able to attain professional results.

I like the Rage Extreme. Not cheap at $ 40.00 a gallon but it doesn't leave as many pin holes as other products.
As far a cheap stuff - Napa sells some for $ 13 a gallon that isn't tooooo bad. Just make sure the area you wish to fill is well scuffed and CLEAN.

Body work is very, very time consuming, get used to it.

Rage is the shit. I use a filler from a marine supply store, it's called MarineTek.
A LOT harder than bondo, and it's cement compared to rage (So don't slop on too much, a little car save a lot of sanding) this stuff is much more solid, and is made for boats (Sit in the sun for months and occasionaly put into cold salt water and beaten on for hours, a lot more heavy duty than a car IMO).

i HATE rage, it is like sanding concrete and it clogs the hell out of paper!
                    more tips:
*buy good paper, it may seem like a big expense at first, but a good paper wont clog as easily and the grit will stay in the backer longer and will stay sharper longer too.
*pinholes can also be caused by how you spread it. the nicer the spread the easier the work. when you get the panel how you want it, go over it with a metal glaze or icing glaze on a thin spread, this will eliminate any pinholes and give you a better surface for priming.
*high build primer is not the answer for bad body work! lots of primer to fix a surface can lead to shrink problems after it is painted.

evercoat - I have used it in the past when I worked in a body shop. Smooths, and sands nice. Put some on a piece of cardboard, and use a spreader to work it around. (Like a painter with a pallet). Do a little at a time, and sand in between. Use a straight edge ruler to make sure you have it straight where you need it.

Yeah, but patience is the key IMO, my first time doing body work i didn't know what the hell i was doing, i spent 3 days filling a rust hole through a body line. I don't mean like a few hours those three days, i literally mean from the time i woke up until i fell asleep. It did turn out pretty good though, until i let a friend drive my car that same week, he backed into someone and it cracked it. I was like

I've met many guys that have literally spent months getting their body straight before paint. I'm not talking about from a wreck either, i'm talking dents and such.
