Aftermarket Paint Jobs: Pic Request Thread

I've searched the Body and Paint Forum and read through all of the 36 pages so far. Nothing that matches what I'm looking for.

We talk all day about getting our cars resprayed and shut each other down because its too expensive or it won't look good. Well hopefully this thread can help us all out.

Post some close up shots of your paint job. Where you had it painted, How much it cost you, What type of paint you used. Please don't bash or discuss too much, this thread will be much more helpful as a picture thread.

    Thanks!!

    Quality respray = $$$$ .

R3v and e30 owners in general are a bunch of broke assed kids so finding a quality respray that the owner paid for will be few and far between .

Here are some shots of my 325is. It was repainted with Dupont Chromasystem base/clear. I personally did all of the body work and paint prep work all the way to masking the car up in the booth. The painter at work sprayed it for me as a favor on a Saturday. I think it looks great. I painted the valance, m-tech 1 and front bumper personally. I have never done a complete, but my 2002 is going to be my first. Total cost at about 700 bucks for everything.

You cant tell a paint job from a picture. No offense but in person that car could have runs, dirt, orange peel all things pictures dont show well. If you want to see paint work go to a shop and ask. Look really closely.

Be sure too look at something that is a couple months old too.

Sikkens clear most always shrinks, and ANY lacquer (sp) primer will as well. Look for patterns that look like they are "in" the paint. Guess what, they are under the paint, you can wet sand and buff, but that defeats the purpose... make sure they use nothing that shrinks. < they all shrink some, but don't say none do, powder coating is a form of no reducer painting...
