VHT Vinyl and Carpet Dye.

Well, I just redid my carpet from Tan to Charcoal Grey using the VHT Vinyl/Carpet Dye. It took 3 cans to do it in a 2dr model.

I can't say enough about this stuff, guys. I was going to have to replace my carpet because stains from the PO weren't coming out, or even thinking about it. They had redyed the carpet an odd assortment of colors, and it looked aweful.

1 hour later, my carpet is now a nice dark Charcoal Grey that looks awesome. 10000% improvement over the old look, and the carpet still feels and acts like regular old BMW Carpet. Of course, this 1 hour timeframe was due to the fact that there is no interior in the car other than carpet and headliner...so...

I bought it here. Shipping was cheap, and the price was good. UPS did blow up my first package, and these guys sent me more immediately. They are out of Charcoal grey for now, but expect more in soon.

BTW, be careful with the rear speaker tray. It is a strange fiber for this, and doesn't look quite right when dyed, IHMO. Don' ask how I know. :-)

Figures charcoal grey is out. I will place an order tomorrow. As far as the parcel shelf goes, I rattle-canned mine. Used the Trim black and it looks great. Thanks for the help.

I think I'm going to look into some of the other stuff VHT makes. I heard they are a great company for some of the other fun stuff like caliper paint and such.

Hey Fl, got a pic of it ? I'm going to paint my car and my rear speaker tray looks "baked" brownish in the rear.

The other solution i thought about is to have it recovered in vinyl. (a lot more expensive than a rattle can). ;)

Sure. I will take some this weekend and post them. I used a whole can. I like the results. My interior is black and the rear window has a limo tint so it all blends nicely. I thought about vinyl or CF but this was cheap and easy.

what color floormats will look good with that? I was thinking of getting OEM e30 or e46 ones.

I hear that day-to-day is great, as this is a dye not a paint. It actually changes the substrate color.

i painted my tan door panels and carpet with the dupli color fabric & vinyl flat black spray, i havent put them back in my car yet and theyve been through the snow/rain/and freezing temps and still havent faded or cracked, the stuff works wonders. My brother also just did his e46 headliner with it, came out great, just still smells after two weeks. Whats the price of the VHT dye per can?

I used the same stuff to dye my rear speaker shelf black. It turned out great. I recommend this product.
