    Acid Battery rust - show me yours!

    Only rust on the car - right here. I am going to fab up a whole new part and weld it in, seam seal it and undercoat it (3M not oil). Also check out the hose cover - other than that no rust on the car.

    battery boxes on every car know to man will rust out some time. Its just the nature of the beast, I am afraid to pull the try on both of mine. It might make me mad I hate rust.

      My 88 rear valance that I got from Nando is like that. I am going to patch it up over spring break and slap that baby on along with my skirts.

        Yeah, I am going to kill the rust - then it is MTechII rear! LOL.

        I just want it sealed, and rust free. :)

            Yeah, that looks interesting. I might use it in other places...but here I think I need to cut - trim - sheet metal - weld - prime - paint. :( Only because of the HOLE! Unless I PAINT it with that stuff, and use tiger hair! ;)

              I dont have the rust penetrating that deep in the battery box, but the cover in the wheel well is disintegrating. I hope I can get it off to replace, the fasteners are undistinguishable.

                here is the part number for that cover. Also there are plastic nuts that hold it on...
