    Tucking *PLASTIC* bumpers.

I was looking at a extra rear bumper core I have, and it looks like it would not be too hard fit the bumpers even closer to the body of the car.

I'm talking about removing a 3/4-1" of material off the bumpers to "tuck" them tighter to the body.

What ya all think? Might give a more modern look?

you mean shaving off an inch or so and then repainting and mounting? Is that front and back? Im sure it would look good but now sure how hard that would be. This will be one of those mods that noone even notices but us enthusists would go nuts over. If it works out I would be interested since I plan on repainting withing a year or two and for some reason the sides on my bumpers have uneven gaps.

I bet the work wouldnt be that hard. Sounds cool. Maybe I will try that with a spare set of plastics to see if it would work..

I looked into it. I think it WOULD be that hard. There are alot more pieces, not to mention, you must shorten the side length now by 3/4"-1" because the rear would be tucked by that much. I would love to see it, but think it would be alot of work.

i think itd be just about as hard as retrofitting them on an older car

I think the hardest part of that is making a really clean line, to make it factory. Honestly I love stock plastics...so I wouldn't even consider it. I have euros on my DD and plastics on my Turbo...so I have the best of both worlds. :)

Same. I would love to see that, but I think it would be a lot more work than you're anticipating. Doing the rear would almost be like modifying a set to fit on diving board cars.

Anybody got a quickphotoshop? Would it look like the front is 'shaved', similar to the old 2002 racers?

I'm gonna check it out Friday or whenever I go out to the shop.

I will mount it up on my car real quick to get an idea of what it would look like. I'll get some pictures if I remember the camera.

Nice job, George. Looks cool, but to me, doesn't warrant enough of an aesthetic gain to do that much work.
