I dunno. I like it on the back, but at the front (at least in a profile view) it makes the front loo a bit too snub-nosed.

Most MkI guys just pull them completely, dunno about the MkII guys, they usually go with either the later-model "big bumpers" or the smaller early ones.

Yeah I think I like the back too. I would leave probably an extra inch or so up front. It doesnt look good so even with the valence. I dont know. I still like my '87 is air dam, so the plastics would have to work with that.

Looking at the metal bracket on the plastic bumper core, I think they can be flipped maybe?

(sorry for ruining anything you had going!!!!)

                i like this idea.

The rear looks good, however the front has an odd look to it. I would suggest for the front that the valence be moved back as well. This would create much more work as there isnt too much room between the rad support and the valence itself.

let me try to explain the placement: imagine the picture on page one. Now, draw a line that runs along the nose of the car, following the same angle as the upper fender. The line rakes back near the same angle as the valence. Now, align the valence with this imaginary line to give a more 'rolled' effect. This accompanied with the front bumper reduction may look better.

if anyone follows me, try a pshop [i cannot as i do not have pshop available and i do not know how to use it effectively]

I was surprised it looked as good as it did.
But after considering the work to convert it *and* the fact that none of the OEM trim would fit, it's not something I'd do.

Just using euro trim cleans up the bumpers considerably.
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

It looks good but the work needed to correctly cut the wheel arch is going to be insane. And not be rounded and finished.

                      Lots of work...

Sounds like a good idea..but at the same time I think its funny the e30ians hate bumpers, I bet we are the only people that have put so much effort into so many different bumper options. hahaha gotta love it.

What are you talking about? you would cut the bumpers somewhere in the middle so that you maintain the arch. Just shorten it about an inch or two, then somehow bond the two pieces back together. I think it's much more difficult at the front of the bumper than at the sides.

I cant find a set of plastic bumpers to swap onto my car here. And you guys have spares that you are willing to hack up.

I Dont think its worth the risk of fucking it up. Its only gonna look a little different from the profile. IF you dont do it right, it'll look like shit. And if you do it right, the difference will be minimal.
