Ok, so I am preparing to extensively redo my E30s Exterior, and some of the interior.
The paint is looking a bit sad in most places. Well, better than it looked 3 years ago - I spend a lot of time detailing it. But you get the idea.
All the rubber seals are also hard and cracking.
First a few pics of the inside/outside:
Audio install

Fibreglass pods with 6.5" comps

The exterior, after 10 hours of claying/polishing/sealing with Menzerna:

I have the annoying trunk leak also

Before audio install - stripped trunk = no weight = no drop lol.

Please keep in mind that I am trying to coordinate this from 3,000 miles "across the pond".
Planned changes:
Ronal LS wheels - PURCHASED
MtecII bodykit
New hood, other body panels?
Replacement of as many seals and as much trim as possible.
Full Lachsilber respray (excluding engine bay, trunk, etc).
OBJECT: to make the exterior of my car look minted, new, whatever you want to call it. Most of my exterior is getting to the point where it needs to be fixed to prevent leaks and deterioration of the rest of the car. Project is planned for ~July. I may not even actually be there to supervise it.
I will be asking you guys plenty of questions, mostly regarding part queries, and how much I will need to replace.
I have been scouring realoem.com for part#s and all the little things I can replace.
Question 1: what are these door sill coverings, part# 51711947064 among others? Were they standard? Should I buy them to go in conjunction with the MtecII kit?
Question 2: as I mentioned before, my seals are hard and cracking (Florida sun). Some are leaking. I plan on replacing as many as possible. Should I also replace ones like the rear vent (non-opening) window seal? I would imagine this is harder to replace as it requires removing the window. Do they remove it when respraying anyway? EDIT - I Will do this as they have to remove windows for headliner install.
Question 3: I am replacing my hood (it is a little rusty, damaged, and dented). I am wondering how many other panels should be replaced... I will keep the trunk and rear quarters. But front fenders and door panels? One of the doors has a reasonably big dent in it. I'm worried that if it gets popped out, it will dent much more easily if it gets knocked again... what do you guys think?
Question 4: Do euro fenders have pre-made holes for the turn indicators? Are they hard to wire up?
As far as other styling goes, I have decided not to go shadowline, but rather new chrome. I think it looks good with lachsilber; I think the car would look more like an econobox w/o it. Opinions?
I am also planning on getting a black stripe painted on the Mtec kit, giving an M5 look. There were pics on here before, I can't find the thread anymore. Opinions on this also?
