Fender molding question

I am replacing the black/chrome side molding on my car with plain black and ran into a little issue. The molding on the door is easy enough to replace. I removed the front fender molding but the clips that stayed on the fender and won't come off, are they screwed in from the inside ? The front molding I removed from a junked 325i car just came off w/o leaving any plastic clips on the fender...

as i remember the rear strips were the ones that had a small screw, unless that was bodyshop something blah blah....the front should have just plastic clips on them

theyre those kind of clips that have the little plastic rod that you have to psuh through the clip to collapse the clip

Just noticed that Bavauto lists different part numbers for early and newer e30s, so maybe they do mount a little different between the years ... not sure yet..
