    plastic valance repair?

My 325e came with a bbs valance that i think looks pretty cool.

Only problem is that it has cracks and the bottom is worn down because the car has been lowered and it wasn't too carefully driven over bumps. i guess.

I've taken it off and started epoxying some of the cracks.

do you think i should sand it down and repaint it too? i thought it was just plain black plastic, but it seems like it was painted matte black.
It'll be a bitch to do so though, because it's got these grille looking things...hold up let me post a picture of someone else's.

so yeah. that's what it looks like.
i tried looking all over the net to see if anyone else had this valance, but couldn't find any.

    give me tips! thanks

I was talking to a board member and he was going to plastic weld my valance because of some cracks and gouges. That might be a option if you can find someone that does it.

how do you weld plastic? like weld more pieces of plastic onto the bumper?

how much would something like that cost?
i'd really like to be able to use this valance because i think it looks really good. i've got a black car and the valance matches it very well. the one in the picture, not so much. haha.
and it seems like a pretty rare valance.

tell me more about plastic welding.
      thanks

I had a pretty low estimate of plastic welding (I really can't tell you how its done) and painting for my IS air dam for $200.00

Look up body shops and see if they plastic weld. I dont' think you will have to go specifically to a plastic welder
