Gas pedal lower mount rusted away.

I need to know exactly what the floor board looks like on the drivers side, without carpet. Rust has attacked the area where the gas pedal pivots on the floor. I have nothing to work with and I will have to fabricate a peice close to the original. EKKK! So I need someone who has a naked floor to help. I would like pictures up close (Use macro mode i think) front side with pedal attatched and detatched. I only want fabricate this thing once. Feel my pain people. :(

search here, ii have a post with pics of fixing the rust in that area on this site, in this sectrion even... probably 6 months+ back. the bad news is that if you throttle pedal rusted away there's probably more rust in both corners that will be tricky to repair.

I will take a picture for you tomorrow, I have a carpetless e30 in the driveway. I doubt I will take the gas pedal out though, unless it comes out very easily. I don't want to deal with broken clips...

I can cut out that piece from my parts car and ship it to you, with some measurements

As promised, pics of driver's floorboard. (bit of surface rust around the pedal, its getting a bath in por15 in a couple of weeks)

Links to fullsize pics, best I could do with my camera

The middle of the bracket is parallel with the top of the plug in the frame rail to the left of it.

That last pic is exactly what I have been looking for!! :)
Thank you so much. I could not figure out how the pedal
originally connected to the floorboard. Now I know what to
make and where to put it.

You could make somethnig out of fiberglass. Thats what i did i made little straps that go through the bottom of the pedal out of thin metal, and fiberglassed them to the floor.

DSUN wants to know how I fixed this. Tediously. I rebuilt the floor with sheet metal first. Second I made my own little box for the pedal base to slide into. I did not have measurements to work from so i made it a good fit for the box, then let it fall into a natural position that allowed the pedal to move full range without binding then tacked it into place. I finished welding it in, wire wheeled it to perfection then coated it all in POR-15. I don't have any pictures, sorry.
