Screw up the ozone for the rest of us painting it outside why dont you. J/K lol you need to look in your local yellow pages for a auto body shop supple house and talk with them on the paints they carry. If you have more than one in the area they will carry different brands. PPG is probably a favorite but I am going to be honest with you. The supplies for this are not cheap !!! You can easliy spend $400+ for all supplies just to paint your car. When a shop will charge you around $1200+. So my question is ? Is it really worth the savings do this yourself. One way to save is do all the body work and prep your self and then have a shop do a light prep and shoot for you. The body work and prep is what cost you the coins. I fix a few cars up every year and do the body work myself and then take to a local shop called Peaches and get a base coat/clear coat job that with a light wetsand it looks like a $2000+ job for only $185. But when I take the car to them all they have to do is very little taping since I have already taken everything off the car that will come off (lights,trim,moldings,gaskets,etc....) except windows since the glued in ones sometime break taking them out. I even 400 wet sand them before they get it. To get good bondos and hardners and sandpapers etc you will spend around $150 to do your car. And if you could find a shop like Peaches you would be done for around $400 for all of it except a wetsand and buff.Comment

Maaco uses DuPont paint. $500 gets you any color in single stage. Double it for base/clear.
To buy just the materials to do a non-standard color in cheapo Kirker paint myself will set me back $350+. Factory color? Probably double.
Still debating if I want to shoot it myself or let Maaco blow overspray all over it.sigpicComment
