Rear Metal Bumper Trim Paint Question

This is a question for all body shop guys. I have an 1982 325e. The trim around the rear bumper looks really bad. It’s the black plastic. I want to paint this plastic to match the car and I want to get my rear bumper (chrome diped).

1.Is it possible to paint plastic molding in such rough condition?

2.How expensive is it to really chrome the rear bumper?

Last time i had a bumper rechromed was in 1997. It was the front bumper on my 70 Dodge Dart, about the same size as your rear bumper. It was around $300 then. But i don't think that the prices went up much since then.
