Can someone take a measurement for me?

    From an unwrecked E30.

Measure from the engine pulling bracket near the front of the engine to the top backside of the core support.

Trying to see how far my core support is off after the accident.

If you don't have the engine bracket anymore measure from the fuel pressure regular frontmost mounting bolt to the top backside of the core support.

    Thanks!

        Seriously? <gulp>

        I'm @ 8".

I don't follow your second measurement. Might be because I have an 87, but I'm not sure where the roundel after VIN is on the firewall.

Not sure what kind of accident you were in, but maybe your engine moved forward? It would be better to measure from a point on the body to another point on the body.

Or better yet take it to a body shop and get a free estimate done .

PLus that bracket can easily be bent out of place just by leaning on it so its not he most stable location to get any measurement from .
