It is an 1989 325i that is going for $2500. Engine is tip top and the rims ans interior will be replaced with the stuff from my current car. Any input about his asking price and the amount of work involved would be helpful.

What I see: (correct me if I am wrong, those are not very detailed shots)
Foglight lenses cracked
Ellipsoids seriously pitted
Ripple on drivers door
Paint on valence/bumper
Interior is doo-doo
I am thinking $1800 TOPS, maybe more like $1300. You didn't mention mileage, working A/C, other accessories...or whether or not you liked that color! If I were ever to consider coughing $2500, I would have a very thorough inspection.
