Tow hooks (changing from early to late valence)

I am going to replace my pre-88 valence with a post-88 valence to get the integrated fogs/brake ducts. I realized during a test fit of the new valence that I would have to cut off the tow hooks to get the valence to fit correctly. I missed this when reading the writeups on bumper swaps (d'oh!). I want to keep my diving boards, but would also like to have the tow hooks.

Is the tow hook for the late model cars in the bumper? Does is screw into the hole on the passenger side of the bumper (usually covered by a small piece of the trim)?

Where are the tow hooks for an 88 style car that has the diving boards, but the newer front valence? I searched, but could not find a picture or a useful diagram on RealOEM.

There is a threaded insert bolted in the center of the diving board behind the plate holder that you screw a tow hook into. I'd just go ahead and make a tow hook that is accessible when the plate is on because no towing company will ever remove it and they will probably rip your oil cooler/valance apart instead.

Note the rusty looking hole in the bumper, this is where the tow hook (which was in the trunk) is supposed to be screwed into :)

CRAZY! It never dawned on me that I didn't have a front tow hook.

You taught me something new, Chris! :D
