In my experience, I like the Meguires stuff on a really dirty car, and the Griots stuff on a car that has been reasonably maintained with cleaner waxes etc over the recent years. The meguires seems to pull a lot more big stuff up right away, where as the Griots stuff takes several more passes on a filthy car. I use the Griots clay on mine now, as my paint is not filthy.

      clay FTW

wash the car. rewash with the claybar and clean wash solution instead of expensive lube.

water is not a lube, it is an abrazive, but the soap will lube well enough.

if you hear the clay making tiny scratching noises that is what it is doing. making tiny scratches. dip it in your wash solution and fold it to a clean section.

True about the MOTHER'S hardness, comparing. With me then, the Meg's kept sticking to my hands.
