Primer...

Just got a 4dr 89 about 2 weeks ago. Doing some required maint. problem is the paint is crap. It's gonna get body work and paint in about a month and a half but I was thinking of shooting primer gray for now to give it a uniform look. Opinions and advice will be accepted. I'm looking for how to and whether I should bother at all.

You want a sealer, not just a primer.

If you're going to be doing a full repaint so soon I wouldn't really bother, just seal the spots where you did work. Get some JD black (maybe green ;)) if you must, its ghetto as hell to roll around in a primermobile.
