    Undercoating?

I bought a brand new fender and I took my old one off and there is under coating on there. What should I use for the new fender to undercoat it?
I am having it painted along with my valence and Euro bumper.
    Thanks.

nothing, fuckit. you should have wheel well covers that bolt under the fender.

at the least, there needs to be a zinc paint to prevent rust. thats about it. though you could buy whats local to you, i used SEM Chip Guard near the bottom ... not sure why... oh, yeah, because there were slight signs of rust. wanted to cover it good

the coat you see could be overspray from that god aweful shit that turns yellow over the years, forget the name.

3M makes a rubberized undercoating spray that is paintable... I'm sort of experimenting with different stuff till I figure out what exactly I want to use on my 6er when I get to that phase. You could go with POR-15 if you have the money, it's tough shit and you can paint right over rust.
