Whats up with this fitment: MTechII skirts

I meant IS skirts, not MT2's

i got the mounting points dead nuts on and they mount up perfectly, but they hang like crap! Is it the skirts themselves or what? What do you think, problem, live with it, how do i fix it?

    proper fitment

big gaps even before the clamps go on the bottom

Looks like the rocker is dented to begin with... also the top should have some body tape on it to keep it hugged down.

(the indention is ever so slight, the skirt's bulge is more so the issue)

X, there is OEM tape kits that you can get for the particular pieces. I had to get one for my M-tech I rear spoiler so it was sit done flush. Its OEM

i have a roll of tape for the MT1 wing, and the corner pads, that stuff isnt really that sticky... not as sticky as i would need it to be here.

another thing i suppose i'll try is shaving the rock guard down to metal around the hole where the green gromets sit in. if i get those closer to the body, maybe it will help the skirt sit more flush as well.

I looked on realoem and couldn't find the tape in the ss hardware. Maybe try a body shop in town and get some body tape. They'll know what you want.

Is the oem better than 3M? I have used 3M tape on other areas of other cars. You just need to clean the area with a alcohol pad before you stick it on there.

the tape i have is 3M "Pressure Sensitive Tape" 1 cm width with orange plastic between layers. its dense rubber and doesnt stick worth a shit. Patrick sent me this for the long strip for the MT1 wing.

Append: So i cut the rock ruard back and the green gromets sit flush with the guard now. Also wanted to check how straight the sides are, if you didnt know, an e30's sides are rounded ALL the way down the car, front to back. But i was still able to find a couple places where the rocker was humped by a mm or so. Dead blow hammer on half inch foam did the trick - perfect contours. Lastly, looking down the line of the skirt, it was bowed out a bit between clips so i heated it up and straightened it. The passenger side looked fine but we'll see.
I'll see about getting some double sided sticky today but i think all of this helped to fix the issue. I was a little freaked out because i drilled those holes in a perfectly good body expecting the outcome to be awesome. Having worked on this for about half a year now, i was a little miffed at first, to say the least!
                  I'll update with finished pics.
