88' 325IX to Late model bumper swap help needed

Hi Everyone, I'm running into some fitment issue with my rear bumper swap. I cannot seem to slide the bumper in place. It's hitting the rear flare arches, or it is not sliding in properly. I'm wondering maybe the piece with red circle needs to be trimmed off. Also, can someone look at the slider in the green circle to see if it is a correct slider plate for the swap? If anyone has a tip in terms of mounting this bumper, it would greatly be appreciated.

Well, I went at it with a grinder and cut that piece off. The bumper now slides in place and fits pretty close. There is still the *GAP* everyone is experiencing. I've made the holes for the shock mount point higher, and mounted the bumper a little bit higher. Still, the gap is about a 1/4 inch, which is fine by me. If anyone is doing a swap on an 88 and have questions, let me know.
