What's the average price to do just the exterior? I called this local shop Details by Mark and Mark answered the phone and asked what car i have blah blah balh and he seemed to know what he was talking about and went into detail about how he does things and such. Finally when he gave me a quote it was 325, could be just a coincident but maybe he just pulled that number out of his ass, then again i dont know anything about detailing. I'd rather pay someone to do detialing work, i dont even wanna mess with it even if it saves me money heh.

Years ago when I had a detailing business I did very little retail business since the steady work came from dealerships. That and most retail jobs were a NO show. That being said my retail prices started at $250 (for a full detail) and went up from there (depending on car size and condition). And that was back in the early to mid 90's. So with the rising cost over the years to do business I would assume they are in line with the going rate. Call around and get some other prices as well.
And remember the cheapest is usually not the best bet. In that business from what I experienced you get what you pay for or at least that was the way it was. I constantly had to deal with other shops undercutting me at a dealer to get my account and when they were successful in doing so. The dealer would always call me back within a few months wanting me to do their work again.Last edited by atomic; 03-11-2008, 08:31 AM.

I called a couple places before i called Details by Mark, one place just ask what i had and quoted me 125bucks. Mark went into detail to what he does, and from what you guys have said it seems his prices are fair. He told me he cleans the engine, wheels, wheel wells, remove the bumper and side moldings and refinished them, remove the emblems, remove the front grills, heater vents, etc. So pretty much the car will look like a stunna again, he gave me more than i asked for but i think he sold himself, especially now that i got your guy's input. Thanks! plus i get 50 bucks for mentioning his website haha www.detailsbymark.comLast edited by tonytony; 03-11-2008, 06:57 PM.
