SEM trim black on the front grill's ?

Has anyone done it, i doubt it will work. I tried some Back to black today and nothin, im guessing that new ones will be the only way to get back to beautiful.
something im not worried about, just wondering.

With the SEM trim paint? I'm trying to figure out how many parts of my car I can repaint with one type of paint :p

On my wifes '89 325i, I did the bumper trim, side trim, the cowl trim, the door handles, the grilles (the chrome rings are removeable) the wiper nozzles, wiper arms, the window trim, the mirrors, the "i" lip and the "is" spoiler. I am gonna re-do the rocker paint when the car gets repainted.

In other words, all of it...but I use DupliColor Bumper paint, not SEM. I did the bumpers and trim on my old POS Astro in SEM, the Duplicolor has put up with far more abuse.

On my '87 325is, I did all of the above plus the bumper surrounds and the bumpers. I did a shitty job of prep on my surrounds, so they are peeling a bit, but new paint might be next month, so I wait.

Her "is" lip is getting pretty shitty too, but she keeps shutting the trunk with it, and it was severely cracked before we started.

All in all, it is a HUGE improvement spread out over a weekend.

I've painted anything that used to be black on all of our E30s with SEM. It's awesome stuff.

The board gets traffic because a lot of us use the "New posts" link at the top of the page to find all the new posts since our last visit regardless of where they're posted. I don't even know what subforum this is. :D

Duplicolor also sells "adhesion promoter" and I use it on everything I have done. I don't really know if it works or not since I always use it...

Trim paint rocks, you paint anything on your car that is black with it. Mild scuffing with a scotch brite and soapy water on plastics, some light (600 or so) sandpaper on rubber trim to get all the coats of armorall etc. people have slathered on them. The only thing I'd do differently is maybe use a satin/flat clear coat over the top to help make water spots less visible.

Used SEM for my bumpers, trim, grills, rear plate filler, pieces underneath windshield wiper arms, blacked out side signals, door trim...god, what else? OH - my front lip. :D
