    I want to strip my car... of everything!!

    i want to completely strip my car of all paint, rubber, insulation, plastics and such...

    i live in houston texas and cant seem to find any tubs to dip it in acid or sumthing similar, i would get it blasted but that shit takes too long it wont eat thru the underbody..

    anybody have suggestions???

    have u called around to some of the local hot rod shops or restoration shops. to see who they use.

      yeah and be prepared to spend some major $$$$ asked a buddy of mine that does it here and he only told me it cost a pretty penny

        Strip it by hand. Use a wire wheel + mucho sandpaper. Add elbow grease.

        Then use POR-15 to rust-protect it. Yourself.

        Then prep, prime, and paint it. Yourself.

        MUCH cheaper.

        Just like REAL car guys have done for years.

          I had my Vega blasted. It cost me $250 i think? But the guy charged buy the hour and it had around 8 layers of paint on it. It would of been cheaper, but it took him longer to get through all of the layers with out heating the parts of the body up so they would not warp.

            damn! thanks alot guys, good info here

            well all the hot rod shops use media blasting but i rather not use such material since the media required to get rid of the inder layer is too large and rigid and will leave deep scratches.

            i would love to tow it somewhere to dip it. do you guys know of anywhere near texas that can do so? about how much is it?
