One of these: http://www.amazon.com/Astro-Pinstrip...8783560&sr=1-1
Used it on my car and it worked GREAT! Still have it actually - you could have it, but you're better off buyin a new one.
I just went into a auto body paint supply store and asked what they had for removing pinstripes, and they handed me one of those. Just do the same. :)
Granted, my drivers side pinstriping never fully came off, because it was pretty baked into the paint. But, it's hard to tell it was ever there!- Sean HayesComment

What Sean said as long as the stripes aren't painted on. If they are paint its gonna be pretty tough to get them off with out taking some of the other paint with it, being 20 years old.__________________

Even my taped ones were a bitch. I think one side got more sun than the other, and the tape refused to come off. :-\- Sean HayesComment

A little OT, but is there any way to get painted pin stripes off without hurting the car's paint? Would rubbing compound do it?

I wouldn't try. If the paint and painted stripes weren't 15+ years old I'd say go for it. Thinner should take them off. I'd suggest no. Old paint is just too thin. You don't know what you are up against.__________________

Gotcha, I figured as much, they're kind of coming off on their own but I'd just like to speed up the process because it just looks terrible.

blowdryer + credit card. Or, if they are really stuck on, an old-fashioned razor blade will work. Just be careful!
Afterwards, Goo-Gone + clay + polish + wax.Comment
