towing eye threads? did the 88s have those? interesting. i thought all that was there was the holes for whatever plate holder/filler. seems like a bad place to have it as i can see the aluminum just ripping out.

You just want to know where it is so you know where to cut it or the like?

cant you pull the bumper back out? or did you screw it in place after tucking it?

i did the whole towing eye/tow rope thing in 06 to pull it out to put on the plate filler. i never did put in set screws because the shocks were kind of...sticky? they would slide out easy, but if i got a good grip they would pull out with a good tug. but when i reinstalled the bumper after the filler, i kicked it in as far as i could get it, covering the two bolts that mount the bumper to shocks (88+ bumpers only). so now i cant even get the hex socket to the bolt, or get a good grip. gotta do the towing eye if i want that bumper off again lol. might have found a lead locally on a cheap rear drive shaft so i might not need to do all this. fuck me that was long, im tired as hell...

if you unbolt one of your bumper shrouds you can move it out of the way enough to pull one side of the bumper out and then the other.

I bolted a plated with a tow hook(or strap) to where the bumper shocks are mounted.

if your car is an 87, it doesnt have the threaded insert. this was an 88 only thing.
