Going to paint my car with Hurculiner Bed Liner This Week

i wish i would have taken pics of the previous paint. it cosisted of bar metal thanks to a ton of tree sap. deep and light scratches all over thanks to a pine tree, normal rust here and there which i took care off before coating it a couple dents that i was able to pound out. the bottom of the back bumper has a large chunck missing due to god know what. your typical $1500 car. i really did not want to spend a ton of money on paint ect.. im going to sand it today and clean it up. im going to start working on the suspension next week.

you know it might not actually look that bad with some sort of semi gloss clearcoat on it.

I think it looks good, investing a lot of money on a paint job is worthless specialy on a car that has rust spots already on it. Sean it's Your car and do what You have to do to save money looks good.

I'm guessing at least a 5 hp drop DUE to reading your post.


as far as the herculiner jobs, I think they are better once sanded and prettied up a bit than other matt looking finished attempted at home.

so for what it's worth, I think it came out pretty nice. Total sleeper now! Seriously... s52+herculiner = sexy beast hahahaha

im still not sure why you guys keep saying it was done with no detail. everything came out even no drips on the windows lights ect (they were masked or removed). if you would please explain in your post rather than bash, hell didn't someone here cover their car in vinyl camo? it's not like it was going to be a show car. if it is because of the material used. i still think this look a hell of a lot better than a rattle can job

Irreversible my ass. Media blaster will take that stuff off no problem. Granted it's a ton of work, but it's hardly irreversible. No worse then paint with spray paint, which also has to come off before paint a car.

I kind of like the look, but I will agree, your execution is a bit sloppy. Should have left the trim/ molding stock and should have removed things like the bumpers to paint behind them.

But whatever, it's your car.
