Clear coat is starting to bubble/peel

It started with the sunroof, which I ignored because I was planning on painting it anyway (it has some scratches in it). Now it has spread to the actual body. It happened over night.

What can I do to stop it from spreading at this point and if I ever see it again?

I'm wanting to get the car painted (a nice paint job) eventually, but not right now. This sucks because the paint has been great up until very recent. It spends the days in a parking garage out of direct sunlight.

The car is dirty, the paint doesn't really look like this pictures show.

    Thanks guys!

Sorry but not much of anything. At most you might be able to sand the edges of those areas down and brush on some clear like you would touch up paint to help seal the bad edges down. Other than that I do not see you being able to do a lot to save it.

    Good Luck

      Damn. Thanks for the response.
If it was a truck that you couldn't see the top of, it wouldn't bother me so bad.
I guess the paint job might have to come sooner than I thought.

you can put polymer stuff on it(dont remember the name) then use a wash and wax, and dab it dry so you dont peal anymore off. and hide from rain, that what i did on my car and it worked very well, the polymer made it so the paint underneath the clear coat looked like it had clear on it. but then it rained and there were leafs on my car and under every leaf the clear coat peeled, so i went and got it repainted.

If you remember the name of this polymer stuff, or if anyone else knows, please post it. The roof of my car is slowly being eaten away as well. Thanks.

This weekend, I did a little repair on the spot on the roof. Wet sanded it; then sprayed with some rattle can clear. I'm just trying to keep it from looking like shit till I can get it painted.

Looks a lot better than before.

Nothing is going to stop it. Someone repainted it with either A not enough coats (one)/cheap cheap clear or poor prepwork... but most likely both.
