    Shaving

I am thinking about shaving the windshield sprayers, and taking the whole system out. I do not want to use filler to plug the holes, but I am worried that it will warp the hood if I hit it with the welder. Thoughts?

consider fiberglass instead of a metal hood?

I wouldnt use fiberglass on metal because it doesnt stick to well.
Plus from the heat from the motor making the hood hot then cooling down with the fiber glass isnt good at all.
Your best bet is to weld it shut.
You can either cut a bigger square out and then cut a piece of metal to fit and slowly tack weld it in, or you can put a piece of copper on the back side of the hood and fill in the pissers with slow tack welds.
just make sure you undercoat the back side of where you welded when your done.
I did this a few years back.

if you weld slow enough and grind it so it doesnt get to hot you will be fine.
        just takes time.

There is a putty like substance I believe Eastwood sells. You put it all around the area to be welded and it absorbs the heat helping to combat warping....

You can always smooth out very minor warping in a concentrated area with a dolly and pick. Then use a very minor amount of filler to smooth it out....

Either way you go you will need filler. Just welding it up is the right way to go IMO.

If you use a copper backer weld won't stick to it, and it'll make it easier to fill the hole. Without using a metal patch backer
