Seems the last couple times Ive shot a car I always had paint left over. I pretty sure two quarts reduced should cover the car at least twice, right ?? Thats almost 3/4's of a gallon after you add hardner to the mix. Im leaning toward plain jane acrylic single stage. Can anyone confirm this ???

you had reducer to paint and hardner to clear coat.. Depending on the paint you use will depend on how much you reduce it.
if you have 2 quarts you will prolly reduce it 2:1, So in the end you will end up with 4 qts and that will be plently.
If your going to use a single stage paint you will want atleast 4 coats so you can wet sand and polish the last coat when the paint it dry.
if your using a 2 stage paint then 2-3 coats of paint is plenty and you will need 3 coats of clear. If you use any more then about 4 coats of clear then you can run into cracking issues.

I just did mune with a paint called "3rd Dimension" from SW. It is an Acrylic Urethane single stage. Worked very well and has hardened up nice. Painted last Sunday and in 48hrs it is practically done curing. Lays very smooth and easy to use.
edit; I bought 2 qts got 3 good coats and had 1/4 pint left to fix rock chips and such.sigpic
