So, who sells a GOOD CF hood.

My E30 needs a hood, so Ive been looking at carbon hoods for the hell of it. Who makes one that is actually well made and fits properly? Its really hard to differenciate whats junk and whats good on ebay besides just looking at the price.

Id really rather have a fiberglass hood, but I havent came across one.

If your buying for fitment, look no further than the MAShaw or, the Competition Concepts models. If your on a budget, buy the VIS or, Eurostop units.

Just buy a random one and paint it black ;)

Now Ive read that the VIS and eurostop hoods have a iffy fitment. Not exactly something that you would want to paint over. Another thing I worry about is the stock rollers. Do you have to drill in your own?

Anyone have nice closeups of these hoods post them here, please.

my eurostop hood fits alot better than any VIS hood i have seen. however you get what you pay for quality wise, my CF weave is not perfect at all.

Also, the Eurostop and VIS hoods are carbon fiber over a fiberglass frame. The MAShaw hoods are just carbon fiber, and MUCH lighter.

quick trick regarding the fitment, use m3 hood seals to cover up the gaps, blends in well and is fairly cheap.

Agreed, and the EuroStop is not vacume sealed. It is only layed and sprayed. This is what causes the weave not to be "perfect". Also you are looking at a G for a vacumed hood rather than $500 for a Eurostop layed hood.

teehee. I plan to paint over it, so im more concerned with fit and smoothness. Thats why I figured a closeup pic would help. When you paint over FG, alot of imperfections start to show.
