    satin paint opinion

    hey guys im sanding down through 4 coats of zinno on my 86 325es and wanting to do a satin paint im thinking of midnight blue hotrod flatz from custom shop here is the link to the pic http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/...sh=768&sw=1280

      I think it could turn out nice as long as you are careful.

      Also,:stupid:. If it does turn out like shit, r3v will probably haunt your dreams.

          IMHO, a "good" satin paint job looks like a good primer job. -1

            oh i know. thats why im going all the way down to metal to start with a clean canvas then im gonna have a friend who does bodywork do the rest of the prep and paint it its just a semi temporary job till i get the rest of the mechanical mods i want to do done then im leaning more towards henna for the final paint scheme

              i wouldnt take it to bare metal using flat,satin paint. a buddy of mine sanded his clear coat off a red E36 and rattle canned it and it looks just as good as one that was done in a booth with a gun. i think a gun would be allot faster but he just canned it. i think almost every day of painting mine satin black. Hints why i was looking at this thread;)
