Paint Suggestions?

So like Jonny Cash I will also be doing a paint job soon on my car and I'm torn at what colors to do it in. May be the last time I'll ever paint the car so lets do something special.

This is what I like so far:
Delphin (original color)
A dark green
burgandrot



Then I started thinking about 2tone and have tossing around some ideas
I was first inspired by this car and wanted the same paint job, but decided against it since it is already done.




So what I want now is to do a 2tone with burgandrot. The same style as the car above^. I'm thinking on using a nice dark grey(maybe delphin) instead of black on top and burgandrot on the bottom. Any suggestions? Likes/Dislikes? I want to get some opinions before I do something that is uber awesome or an epic failure.

I'd go with the original color. Unless you are going to paint under the hood and in all of the jams and whatnot.

But i'm really liking Calypso

hmm that is a nice color. So what do you think about a delphin/calypso 2tone job? I want to find a gray the shade of the wheels.

My opinion is that you keep it one color-no two tone. Don't care for it, never will-and I don't think it looks that great on E30's.

Now, as far as color-if you paint it a different color than Delphin, are you going to have it done correctly? Meaning, repaint the engine bay, door jambs, trunk, etc with the new color? If you don't do this, it's just half-ass and will look it. I just did a full respray on my '87 325is with the original Delphin. I considered a color change, but the extra amount of time, effort, and money involved to do a proper color change isn't something I wanted to get into. Delphin isn't exactly a color that 'pops', but once you see fresh Delphin on your car, it will look so much different than how it does now. Mine had the peeling clear coat just as yours and the paint had just died as far as color. New Delphin will look darker and you will see the metallic in the paint again.
