    Rust spots in paint

My alpine white car is starting to show tiny little specs of rust in the paint... It is not body rust as they are even on the plastic bumpers.. just tiny little specs on the surface of the paint... Has anyone experienced this, and what is a good way to remove it? Will a good pro detailing do the trick?

Try claying it first. Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay kit, ~$20 off the shelf item.

you live work or park near a rail yard or tracks, or anywhere that some grinding sparks landed on it???

Rail dust is really bad on white. Also has the thing been repainted recently??? get a red claybar (its a bit more agressive) but use is sparingly as a red bar will burn the paint.

Nope no railways near me. Paint is in really good shape overall. It has never been resprayed and no replacement panels, rust or dents anywhere. Just these tiny pin point surface spots... I will try the red claybar, any brand better than others? Is there any type of metal in alpine paint that could be causing this.

Nothing in the paint. It's from an external source. Some heavy metallic brake pads will do this down the sides of race cars, and once it gets wet it's a real bugger to get off. I'd swing by a body or detail shop and see if they have a product that may get it off.

That makes sense as my pads do cause a lot of dust and their are more spots on the rear bumper. I'll swing by a body shop and see what they recomend.

I have some pitting on the paint in front of my car, and they also have begun to rust. Don't know if this relates to your problem...

I dont have any pitting, just these little dots on paint surface,,,, if my car wasnt white i dont know if they would even be noticable. I am going to talk to some detailers and will post what they have to say.
