    hammertone paint...

I have my beater 325is that needs to be prettier than it is, but doesn't warrant the expense of automotive paint, my first idea was to use Rustoleum, but that oxidizes too quickly, so I thought of using some flat paint and not pretend to be shiny in the first place.

Now I'm really distracted, I haven't seen a car in Hammertone paint before, that would work without being different just like everyone else :D A search revealed nothing, so we'll see what happens!

This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.

Don't bother with that hammertone paint. Just go to a fast food place and eat a greasy burger meal. Then wipe your hands all over the car. Paint the car with normal paint. With the 80,000,000 fisheyes in the paint. It will look like hammertone.

it tends to run and streak on surfaces that are not horizontal when it it applied. if you have the ability to spray it from a gun, you could make it look SHITTY instead of SUPER SHITTY. then again if you could spray it, why would you not just pony up for automotive paint in the first place?

it will probably look like crap

Thanks der affe, it is salvaged, but strong, so I was going to strip its guts and run a super basic LTW 325is, I have 2 nice keeper e30s, so no need for another.

I have guns coming out my ears :D

i have shot it on suspension stuff and it works pretty well for that.
it is kind of unpredictable how it will reduce and still come out with an even texture though

Good. I hate cats. One less kitten means one less cat. :)

If a good paint job has no runs and no orange peel, then painting a car with hammertone would be like intentionally giving a car the worst possible paint job. There is a line where cool creativity ends and just plain ghetto begins. I think you may be crossing this line. Just my 2 cents.

                      Cheers,

                      Brian

Keep in mind the only other option is a cutting torch.

Do GM engine orange= BMW Hennarot.

Get some rattle cans and do it one panel at a time, it'll come out half decent anyway. There should be more henna cars in the world, that's why I suggest picking up GM engine orange, which is a strangely similar match to BMW hennarot. I couldnt tell that a friend's fender was the GM rattle can paint until it was pointed out to me.
